A rare opportunity has arisen due to expansion within a rapidly growing Court of Protection team. The firm is now looking for a Senior Associate or Partner-level solicitor with strong leadership experience to establish and lead a new team in Manchester, while also providing senior support to a junior team based in Leeds.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Court of Protection solicitor with strong litigation experience in deputyship matters – both pre- and post-settlement – to take the lead on high-value cases and play a pivotal role in the development of the department.

You’ll handle matters involving property acquisition and adaptation, investment strategies such as offshore bonds, and coordination with architects and other experts. As the team grows, you will recruit and mentor your own support team, while benefiting from strong internal infrastructure and operational support.

Who we’re looking for

  • A qualified solicitor with the required experience to be appointed as a Director of the Trust Corporation
  • Experience leading a Court of Protection team
  • Significant experience managing a variety of Deputyship and Trust matters, including litigation within deputyships
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and support lawyers and managers
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders including clients, medical and financial experts, and legal professionals
  • Technologically proficient and comfortable working in a modern, agile environment

Salary & benefits

  • Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience
  • Flexible full-time or part-time hours (4 days per week considered)
  • 35-hour working week
  • Bonus scheme (subject to performance targets)
  • 35 days holiday per year (including bank holidays and Christmas closure), plus option to buy 3 additional days
